Today I decided to share for the first time a preview of a font I've been working on for some months now. The family will include three fonts, Quadrata, Quadrata Mediaeval and Quadrata Modern. They differ in how I distributed the OpenType features among them. In addition, every font has a counterpart Rubrum version that can be layered on top of it to create rubrication, red overlay on capital letters.
This picture shows Quadrata Mediaeval with a range of scribal abbreviations turned on. The text reads:
1 In principio creavit Deus cælum et terram.
2 Terra autem erat inanis et vacua, et tenebræ erant super faciem abyssi: et spiritus Dei ferebatur super aquas.
3 Dixitque Deus: Fiat lux. Et facta est lux.
